Made in USA at Wolverine Worldwide Facility

Woodstock, CT; October 16, 2012 – Rogers Corporation, manufacturer of PORON® Cushioning Materials, announces that HyTest® Safety Footwear, a Wolverine Worldwide brand, has launched a Made in USA collection of boots offered with PORON® XRD™ Extreme Impact Protection. The HyTest USA boots are manufactured at the Wolverine Worldwide facility in Big Rapids, Michigan and are now available exclusively through HyTest distributors, which operate over 120 retail locations nationwide.

Featured boots in the HyTest USA collection include 6” and 8” steel toe, electrical hazard safety boots that are made with: full-grain tumbled leather upper; abrasion- resistant mesh upper lining; cushioned removable footbed; PORON® XRD™

M-Guard; and oil and slip-resistant Vibram® rubber outsole. The boots are ASTM rated I/75 C/75 Mt/75 EH.

The PORON XRD M-Guard, which is also made in the USA made, is an internal, flexible metatarsal guard that provides repeated impact protection along the instep of the boot. It also helps work boots pass the ASTM F2413-11 met-guard standard for impact protection.

In multiple impact absorption tests, PORON XRD Material continually surpasses the competition for repeat impact absorption in a thinner, lighter-weight, contouring material. While soft and flexible to the touch, the material instantly forms a comfortable, protective shell on impact, providing reliable and long-lasting protection.

“PORON Cushioning has been a HyTest insole partner for years and we recognize Rogers is as passionate as we are when it comes to comfort and safety,” said Julie McCauley, HyTest Marketing Manager. “PORON XRD Material provide the needed protection our customers require while adding the surprising comfort unexpected in a work boot– and it’s made here in the USA!”

“Continually developing new materials that provide extreme protection and comfort, is a critical step in helping our partners, such as HyTest Safety Footwear, design the best possible products for its consumers,” said Dave Sherman, New Business Development Manager PORON Cushioning. We are proud HyTest has selected the PORON XRD M-Guard, which is a significant departure from the stiffer composite met guards used in much safety footwear brands on the market today.”
