Rogers Corporation Introduces FDA Compliant UHMW-PE Films for Specialty Hoses
Chandler, Arizona, December 6, 2018 – Rogers Corporation (NYSE:ROG) is pleased to introduce a portfolio of FDA-compliant films to solve the unique challenges of specialty hoses. The new DeWAL® DW402 family of skived Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) films are highly versatile materials engineered for use in hoses requiring food-grade compliance, such as those used in the production of wine and other beverages. The materials also address a wide variety of other challenging service applications such as the inner and outer surfaces of potable water, chemical, fuel, and hydraulic hoses.
DeWAL DW402 UHMW-PE films have a carbon filler that achieves conductivity sufficient for static dissipation applications and is compliant with FDA CFR 177.1520 for food contact polymer materials. These films have extremely high abrasion resistance, exceeding the abrasion resistance of steel, as well as broad chemical resistance and a low coefficient of friction.
Available in natural, black, and white, the new DeWAL DW402 films are offered in 3 standard grades of skived UHMW-PE rolled goods, in a range of thicknesses starting as thin as 3 mils (0.0763 mm).
